Originally released in 1990, Jordan Brand and head designer Tinker Hatfield were inspired by a specific World War II fighter plane, the Mustang, when developing the Air Jordan 5’s – evident in details such as the iconic “teeth” included on the midsole. The classic AJ 5 silhouette, known for its mesh tongue/side panels and unique lace lock, has been restored in full form with the new Air Jordan Kids 5 ‘Fire Red’ colorway (314340-101). This new colorway sports a leather upper draped in icy white from heel to toe, with the molded mesh on side panels and tongue covered in a bold black. The sneaker sports red accents on liner, midsole, and the Jumpman on tongue. The midsole houses a visible air unit, and rests atop a red and cool blue rubber outsole. Burn the court down in the Air Jordan Kids 5 ‘Fire Red’, released 03/12/16. For sizing information, be sure to check our Size Chart. Looking for a store near you? Head over to our Store Locator.
