CGBumps: Frank Ocean, Tory lanez, and More

Frank Ocean - Endless

How long would a Frank Ocean fan wait for some new croons? An Endless amount of time maybe? The wait for a release is finally over- but not for “Boys Don’t Cry”. “Endless” this release is beyond welcomed. Check out the visual album via iTunes or Apple Music.

Tory Lanez - I Told You

We love Tory Lanez. Although he released his debut on the most unfortunate date by having it come out the same day as a Frank Ocean release, it’s still worth a listen. The collection of trap-induced R&B tracks weave story based ‘skits’, in and out of heavy handed hitters that play off the new school mix of rap and R&B a la Travis Scott or Bryson Tiller. We know it’s easy to be obsessed with Endless, but definitely don’t miss out on giving “I Told You” a listen.

 Travis Scott - 901210

Travis Scott has his aesthetic. A pioneer in the soft-heavy sound of singing over heavy bass, Scott matches the sound of “90210” with animated visuals of the action figure featured on his album destroying buildings, arguing with himself, and getting close with a woman. The video was Hype Williams-directed and isn’t appropriate for kids, but is worth checking out if you’re a Travis Scott fan.

Young Thug ft. TI - Bobby Womack

Young Thug (No, My Name is Jeffery) grabs T.I. for some throwback “About The Money” vibes on “Bobby Womack”. The track - that pays homage to the late great Soul Singer - has T.I. holding up the hook while Thugger goes crazy on the verses. Jeffry’s mixtape has been delayed from its initial release date of 8/16 to 8/26, but this heat will keep you warm until it drops.

Danny Brown - Pneumonia

2016 has been a year of hot release after hot release. Everybody is on their A game and Danny Brown is no different. Brown has prepped his upcoming album “Atrocity Exhibition” to be undeniable. It’s got features from Kendrick Lamar, Earl Sweatshirt, Ab-Soul, and more. This first track, produced by Evian Christ, is abrasive and hard, and sets the tone for a heady intense album to look out for.
