The first three colorways - “Gold Standard,” “Concrete Island” and “Jordan Family” - release Saturday, January 3. The aesthetic, design and colorways of the shoe are all inspired by and tributed to different elements of Carmelo Anthony’s background. The “Gold Standard” is black and gold with a translucent outsole. While “Concrete Island” is inspired by the concrete jungle of NYC, the color scheme echoes the streets with gray across the forefront and highlighting the tongue to signify graffiti and street art. The speckled midsole represents the bright lights of NYC, which is the city that never sleeps. Carmelo wanted a colorway to tribute to the Jordan Brand so he chose a colorway close to MJ with the Chicago Bulls colors for the “Jordan Family.” The shoe also represents the rivalry Jordan had with Knicks. The Melo M11 incorporates the newest technology and this is the second Melo signature shoe to have a FlightPlate in it, which is placed directly over the forefoot Nike Zoom unit to enhance the sweet spot for liftoff and landing.
