The Nike Air Max 2 CB ’94 is dropping in the “Suns Home” colorway for the first time since the Round Mound of Rebound graced the court. Arguably the most recognizable colorway for this silhouette, these sneakers represent Sir Charles’ prime in the NBA. The design team at Nike took cues from Barkley's "don't tell me what to do" attitude and from his fierce game to create his signature sneaker. Charles saw himself as a force of nature on the court, and Nike took that theme to heart. They created a silhouette that locked the foot down to keep that force under control, so it could be utilized on the court. The sneaker has an inner bootie which provides a tight fit around the foot. The upper employs leather straps to resemble a straightjacket, and the midsole has an aggressive teeth aesthetic. Dressed in tumbled white leather, the upper is detailed with black for contrast. The multiple leather panels arching forward allude to Chuck’s aggressive playing style. The bulky midsole is black with old royal purple for a touch of Phoenix color, and the heel sports a visible Air Max unit. The 90s was an era of classic sneakers, and the CB ’94 silhouette is a star of the era. The Nike Air Max 2 CB ’94 “Suns Home” has risen from the ashes of time in OG style.
