Share This Page: This Week's Heat: KD 9 'Black/White', Kyrie 2, and more Nike Zoom KD 9 ‘Mic Drop’ – 843392-010 – 7/9/2016 The Nike Zoom KD 9 has dropped the mic on Nike Signature Basketball with this black and white colorway. The KD 9 will be the first silhouette in the KD line to employ Flyknit in the construction of the sneaker. Durant said he was jealous when Kobe Bryant unveiled the Kobe 9, and it had Flyknit. The tongue on this silhouette sports a boot-style fit. The KD 9 is the first sneaker to debut Nike’s new tapered Zoom Air unit, which took three years to develop. The Zoom Air bag is 16 millimeters thick at the heel, and thins out to 10 millimeters at the forefoot. Designer Leo Chang said the amount of Zoom was increased and foam was decreased in this new silhouette. The new Zoom provides shock absorption at the heel, and gives you a springy sensation in the push-off. KD plans on debuting the KD 9 during the Olympics in August. The ‘Black/White’ KD 9 features a black and white toe box and black ankle and heel region. The white Swoosh and KD branding jump out from the black background on the rear of the sneaker, and black laces cross the tongue. This two tone silhouette sits on a black sole unit which includes a translucent Zoom Air unit. The Nike Zoom KD 9 ‘Mic Drop’ drop on Saturday, July 2nd, in stores and online. Grey Flywire cable shine through the engineered mesh, and the red stitching on the left heel highlights Kobe’s triumph over injury and hardship. The ‘Black’ sits on a translucent black sole unit which finishes out the look of this sneaker.
