Share This Page: adidas Introduces the SL Loop Runner Adidas is taking it back to the basics this July with the SL Loop Runner, a modern remix of the well-loved SL 72 model. When it was released at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, the SL 72 was introduced as an everything shoe. Athletes wore it during training, between competitions and even on the podiums as they accepted their hard-earned medals. The iconic model is known for its suede T-toe design that paired so perfectly with a nylon upper and sculpted midsole. Now adidas is stepping up their game with the SL Loop Runner, the latest in the adidas Originals line. While they kept the lightweight material in the body and all those characteristic style elements that made the SL 72 so popular, they added new flair with serrated Three Stripes that pull away from the body of the sneaker to hold the laces and expose more of the upper. The SL Loop Runner launches in July at $75, and will be available in solar red, solar green, frost mint and onix at City Gear. Check back often for updates on when this athletic kick will be ready to cop!
