Incorporating flowing lines, the Air Max 97 was inspired by the Japanese bullet trains. Released in the shadow of the coming new millennium, the AM 97’s design oozes futurism. While it takes obvious inspiration from the Air Max 95, the Air Max 97 is a carefully crafted shoe that ditches the heavier, chunkier design of the mid-90s. These sleek sneakers were the first sneaker to feature a full-length Air Max unit, and they were clearly built with runners in mind. It’s coated in 3M across the stitched overlays allowing for better visibility and striking style. Featuring a reinforced heel, the Air Max 97 was designed for the high impacts of running. The ‘Silver Bullet’ revisits the original colorway with a silver construction from heel to toe. Red Nike branding stands out on the side panels, tongue, and outsole. The Nike Air Max 97 OG ‘Silver Bullet’ will be available on Thursday, April 13th, in stores, so check Where to Cop for details. They will be in men’s sizes for $170.
