Nike Air Foamposite Pro 'Silver Surfer'

Arguably one on Nike’s most recognizable silhouettes, the Air Foamposite Pro ‘Silver Surfer’ is solid addition to celebrate the Foamposites 20th anniversary.

Nike Designer Eric Avar set out to create a sneaker based on a sunglasses case he had. The case had a hard outer shell, and the inside was a soft foam. It took the design team three years to come up with a chemical composition to form the hard, seamless shell and supportive inner foam. The silhouette that was born had a rugged, futuristic look to it that still holds twenty years later.

Named for the classic Marvel comics character the Silver Surfer, these sneakers are incased in a Metallic Silver shell. The laces, tongue, eyelets, bootie, and collar are coated in black as well. The namesake silver hits the Nike branding, liner and outsole. These dominating Foams sport a herringbone traction pattern and black carbon fiber midfoot plate.

The Nike Air Foamposite Pro ‘Silver Surfer’ drops Friday, March 17th, in stores and online. They will be in men’s for $250, grade schoolers’ for $180, preschoolers’ for $100, toddlers’ for $75, and crib shoes for $50. These silvery sneakers will available at all City Gear locations.
