Jordan Future

In early 2014, the Jordan Brand looked into what was yet to come with the Jordan Future. Blending classic and contemporary, the Air Jordan Future is the perfect mix of on and off court style.

Back in 1997, Nike decided Air Jordan shoes were so successful, that Nike made the Jordan Brand into a sub-brand of Nike. Since its creation the Jordan Brand has handled the design of all Jordan sneakers. The first shoe to be released was the Air Jordan 13. The Jordan Brand dropped all of Nike’s logos for the Jumpman logo. While the brand continues to produce the Air Jordan line, they have also created silhouettes designed for the athletic life and off-court lines.

Originally a woven upper, this silhouette has also dropped in mess uppers, however each rendition has a reflective coating. Adding to the futuristic look of the sneaker, the Jordan Brand employed an offset lacing system for added stability. The Jumpman logo is subtly place on the tongue.

The Air Jordan 11 is one of the most sought after silhouettes, and the Jordan Future salutes its heritage with the midsole and outsole design from the AJ 11, including the carbon fiber midfoot plate. The encased air unit in the sole, and the carbon fiber plate lend these kicks lightweight cushioning and rigidity, respectively. Completing the construction of the Jordan Future, is the rubber outsole with a herringbone pattern for superior traction.

The Air Jordan Future has been dressed in several different colorways since its inception, including a “Bred,” “Space Jam,” and “Infrared.”
