Share This Page: NBA Post-Season Rumors With the Warriors taking their namesake W in last week’s NBA playoffs, the race for the 2018 trophy has already begun with crazy trade rumors and even crazier trade realities. News broke Tuesday night that the Lakers traded D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Brook Lopez and the 27th overall pick in Thursday’s draft. With LA still holding onto the second overall pick in the draft, it has been assumed that the Lakers will draft a point guard and UCLA product Lonzo Ball. Eight-time All-Star center Dwight Howard was also traded to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Marco Belinelli, Miles Plumlee and the 41st pick in the draft. But what’s turning heads in the postseason is the rumor that team LeBron (oops, I mean the Cavs), are attempting to catch Jimmy Butler to even up the next year’s playoffs (come on, like Cavs/Warriors 4 isn’t the definite outcome of the next year’s season). Although the latest rumors say, Jimmy Butler has been warned by Cavs players to stay away for now. Furthering the Cavs rumors- small forward Paul George made headlines this week when he announced that he would leave the Pacers after his contract ended in 2018. Both the Cavaliers and the Lakers reportedly tried to work out trades to acquire him, but nothing as of right now has come to fruition. Other notable free agents include Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Paul Millsap and Kyle Lowry. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.
