Share This Page: Nike Air Trainer V. Cruz PRM 'Rush Blue' New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz is a force on and off the field, so much so that he is one of Nike's signature athletes. Cruz collects kicks, and last year Nike saw fit to give him his own lifestyle pair, the Nike Air Trainer V. Cruz PRM. In 2016, Nike has released a new colorway of the V. Cruz in 'Rush Blue'. Cruz is an avid sneakerhead, which he defined to Complex as, “someone who throughout their life has paid attention to how shoes fit, look, and feel when worn, someone who also takes the time to get to know the backstory that defines and helped create the shoe.” Cruz knows what it is to live for sneakers, so much so that he sent someone to Switzerland to cop some kicks for him. Victor Cruz’s professional career began in 2010 when he signed with the NY Giants as a free agent. While his first season was cut short by injury, Cruz had a fantastic second year with the Giants. He tied the NFL record with a 99-yard touchdown catch against the New York Jets, and holds the record for the most single-season receiving yards by a Giant. The wide receiver also celebrates every touchdown with a salsa dance in honor of his grandmother who taught him how to salsa dance and loved touchdown dances. With his help the Giants ended the season with a victory over the New England Patriots for a Super Bowl title. In 2013 the NY Giants signed Cruz to a 6 year deal to keep their phenomenal player, but his 2014 season was ended by a torn patellar tendon in October. In Week 10 of the 2015 season, Cruz was cleared to play again, however, he announced he would undergo surgery on his left calf. Cruz missed the entire season, but while he was recovering Nike decided to give him his own signature sneaker. The first Air Trainer V. Cruz was released in the Fall of 2015, and rightfully so was released in a wheat colorway. Since the first release the silhouette has seen a few colorways, and Nike has just released a new one. The sneaker comes dressed in all-blue to pay homage to the Giants Football team. The ankle and heel area boasts a woven pattern, and a strap across the back. A strap is draped across the laces, and the toe box is blue suede, and a medal lace holder adds a bright pop to the sneaker. The midsole and outsole are solid 'Rush Blue' with a visible air unit in the midsole. These tonal kicks are a stylish addition to Victor Cruz’s line of Nike signature sneakers. The Nike Air Trainer V. Cruz PRM 'Rush Blue' is available in stores and online now. This sneaker is in Men’s for $150.
