Share This Page: Sneaker Spotlight: Air Jordan Retro 3 "Hall of Fame" Sought after by sneakerheads for over 12 years, the exclusive Air Jordan Retro 3 “Hall of Fame" is finally having an official release for the public. Initially released as an extremely limited charity auction to raise funds for the victims of hurricane Katrina in 2006, this version of the AJ 3 was immediately popularized by sneaker fans and shoe lovers alike due to its rarity. There’s more history to the shoe though. Taking cues from the original “White/Cement” and “Fire Red” Air Jordan 3s worn by Michael Jordan in 1988, the sneaker gained popularity almost overnight. The colorway made its first appearance in 2003 as a player exclusive Air Jordan 3 for then-Jordan Brand athlete and Portland Trail Blazers guard Derek Anderson. The only difference between his version and the subsequent “Hall of Fame” edition is that Anderson’s had his initials embroidered on the ankle. The Air Jordan 3 “Hall of Fame” is one of the most anticipated Jordan retro releases of 2018. That being said, you don’t wanna miss your chance to grab your pair when they drop on 5/12. They will be available in-store and online for $190.00.
