Nike Innovation Director Eric Avar has been working with Kobe for years, and he says Kobe is always pushing him for something new and cutting edge. Avar has used Kobe’s signature line to debut groundbreaking tech for basketball silhouettes, including Flywire, Nike Free, and Flyknit, while at the same time keeping Bryant’s sneaker simple. This latest model is no different. Play hard like the Black Mamba in the Nike Kids Kobe 11. These low-top sneakers are constructed of a grey and mango knit upper that is breathable, and provides lightweight support and durability combined with TPU yarn for increased strength. For responsive cushioning, Nike Zoom units combined to provide a low-profile cushioning. Translucent high-abrasion rubber on outsole gives traction on the blacktop. The innovative Flyweave upper of the Kobe 11 sports a gradient color pallete that fades from grey on the toe to bright orange on the heel. Nike Kyrie 2 'Easter' - 819583-105 - 3/25/16 Constructed to match the lightening quick cuts of the Australian Assassin himself, Nike and lead designer Leo Chang have spared no detail with this update to Irving Kyrie’s signature line, the Kyrie 2 'Easter', releasing Friday, March 25th. The “Easter” colorway drapes the silhouette in an icy white at forefoot, tongue, and midsole, with with a multicolored, pastel graphic print around the ankle area. Lilac Purple compliments the pastel theme with hits on the tongue and outsole, and Metallic Blue graces the Swoosh branding. The look of these kicks is finished out by the white laces and white midfoot strap. The breathable mesh upper includes molded channels that allow the shoe to organically flex with foot. A bowed midsole and mid-foot strap provide increased stability and security for maximum on-court performance. Encapsulated Zoom Air unit in heel provides vigorous, yet low profile support. Equipped with a smooth suede upper that is saturated in a wildfire of gradient reds, these high end runners are detailed with tonal logos debossed on the tongue and heel tab. The superstar originally released in 1969 as a low-top version of the adidas pro-model. The shell-toe took off as the b-ball sneaker of the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and select other NBA elites ofthe time. Later popularized again by rap duo RUN D.M.C, the superstar was cemented as a classic when it was brought back into the sneakerhead spotlight by being worn by 80's rap group Run D.M.C.. Nike Air Max 2016 GS "Heat Map" - 847655-400 - 3/26/16 One of Nike's hottest lines is celebrated every year in "Air Max Day"- Nike's holiday for the Air Max with the Nike Air Max 2016 GS "Heat Map". They dressed some air max classic's in a new 'heat map' colorway. First up is the Air Max 2016- This airmax has a visible air unit around the entire midsole. The upper is constructed of engineered mesh to maximize ventilation without sacrificing a fully secured fit. FlyWire cables integrate with the lacing system for an on-the-fly support system and a tight lace lockdown. The 90 was originally the Air Max III when it debuted in 1990. The Tinker Hatfield designed silhouette picked up its new name with its relaunch in 2000. The 90 had a visible air unit in the heel, but at the time, provided more Nike Air than any previous model. The upper has the same heat map displaying varying hues of red, blue, green and yellow. Nike Air More Uptempo 2016 GS "Heat Map" – 819172-122 - 3/26/16 The last Nike silhouette to see the "Air Max Day" treatment is the Nike Air More Uptempo GS "Heat Map". The Uptempo was popularized during the Bull’s reign in the 90’s through Scottie Pippen’s use. According to the shoe’s designer Wilson Smith, the shoe was created to show off Nike’s dominance. He was inspired by the big block letters of street graffiti and applied it to a sneaker silhouette for the “AIR” branding.
