The Timberland Company’s roots start with Nathan Swartz, who began working as an apprentice stitcher for a shoe company in 1918. In the 1950s, he bought a half interest in the Abington Shoe Company in Massachusetts. He purchased full-rights to the company in 1955 and launched a footwear legacy. Now Timerbland's iconic yellow work boots are a comfortable fashion staple seen all over the world.
